Stephen S. Case practices law in Scottsdale and Sun City, Arizona, where his Major areas of practice
are taxation, estate and trusts.
He is a member of the State Bar of Arizona, the Colorado Bar and the American
Bar Association, and is admitted before the Tax Court, and the Ninth Circuit Court
of Appeals, as well as the Arizona courts.
He received his undergraduate and law degree, with Honors, from Washington and
Lee University.
Steve has served as Chairman of both the Arizona Bar's Section of Real Property,
Probate and Trust Law, and its Section of Taxation, and has chaired one of its
Disciplinary Hearing Committees. He lectured annually for ALI-ABA from 1982-2003, and has delivered papers at
the Miami Institute on Estate Planning, the New York University Institute on Federal
Taxation, Duke University, Southern Methodist University, the Great Plains Tax
Institute and numerous other programs.
He is a former member of the Phoenix faculty of Golden Gate University, teaching
in its graduate tax program and currently teaches a course on Trusts as adjunct
faculty at Arizona State University Law School.
Steve is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, and is
a certified specialist in Estate and Trust Law.
He is listed in “Best Lawyers in America” under Taxation and under Trusts and
Estates.
Mr. Case has always been active in the community,
as board member and chair of the Grand Canyon Chapter, American Red Cross. He also serves on the Advisory Board for the Arizona Community
Foundation
and Center for Non-Profit Leadership Management and is a mentor for the Arizona Endowment Building Initiative.
Steve is a trained mediator, with both basic and advanced mediation training
and a number of successful mediations completed. He
specializes in mediating disputes involving family and money issues.
He has also lectured in mediation training for estate and trust mediators on
the topic of “Dealing with Emotional People”.
Mr. Case was
born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He has two daughters and he resides in
Scottsdale with his wife, Monica.
